The only thing that would cause it not to work is the power supply but they make adapters for that. So, yes. It will work.

Not at all likely. There is one definite problem and another possible problem. First, the killer: the TV transmission standard in France is not the same as in the P.I. France currently uses SECAM and will convert to all digital DVB-T by 2015. The P.I. currently uses NTSC and will convert to all-digital ISDB-T by the end of 2011. So unless your TV is a multi-standard set (capable of both SECAM and NTSC), that alone will keep it from working in the P.I. today, and after next year, no chance. The second issue is the a.c. power. Both countries use 220 volts at the wall receptacle, but France is 50 hz and the P.I. is 60 hz. If the TV will accept either frequency, it's okay. Some equipment is okay with 50-60 hz, and other devices need one or the other without exception. Bottom line: sell the old TV in France and buy a new one in the P.I.
