Im from the philippines and im planning to buy a phone in the UK, It has a sim card slot and its not locked to any providers, Will it work?

Yes, it will work in most cases. Unless it is an ancient phone you'll have no issue. Now my phone when connected via 3G sometimes wont let me call. I think that's a problem with the 3G locally though. You'll need to get a SIM card once you're here. They cost about P40 and come with load or credits. You can also get cell phones in the Philippines very cheap unless you insist on getting brand names. For those, you might pay a little more.
