do american nationals need to attain a working permit to work in the philippines?
i'm looking for work here in the philippines and i need to to know immedately, thanks for whatever help you may offer.

Yes, you do. Unless you have some very badly needed skill you'll find it impossible to get one. Take a look around you. About 30% of the country is unemployed or under-employed. A teacher earns $200 a month and a Registered Nurse $300 a month.

I'm with Yak Rider on this one. Unless you have some special skill, chances are you won't get a working visa and are you willing to work for $300 a month or less ? Less of course the expence for a working visa and setting up a residence here.
