Im going to the Philippines and i wonder if my cell phone will work its a pre paid cell phone. I want to be able to call home and tex home.

Hi there, I work for Virgin Mobile and thought I could help out. Virgin Mobile runs off of Sprint's Nationwide network in the US. That means you can make calls internationally from the US with your Virgin Mobile phone, but you cannot use it outside of the US where there are no Sprint towers.
